Agriculture & Natural Resources

David Richmond, Agriculture and Natural Resource Extension Agent, is split between Summers and Raleigh County. You may call either office to reach him. If he is not available, you may leave a message and he is very prompt returning telephone calls or providing information requested.

In every West Virginia county, WVU Extension agents are a trusted source for homeowners and businesses for answers to their questions on horticulture, home gardening, lawn care, pest control, organic production techniques, livestock/crop production and management, and growing commercial fruits and vegetables.

Soil testing is available as a service to our community. You may stop by our office to receive a soil test kit. When you mail in your soil sample, your soil is laboratory-tested at WVU’s Davis College. A copy of the results are mailed to you and a copy is kept at the county office.
